IT-oLogy will conduct a no cost 4 hour hands-on “Introduction to Computer Science” workshop on for teachers to infuse project base learning activities into their lesson plans. Not only will you learn introductory computer science concepts such as loops, conditionals and functions, you'll learn how to teach computer science skills such as, algorithm, critical thinking, logic, persistence, creativity in problem-solving through collaboration. These skills will be addressed through hands-on "unplugged" and online activities. The curriculum provided by aligns to the CSTA Computer Science Standards with multiple connections to content standards in ELA, Mathematics and Science.

After the workshop is completed and the attendance roster is submitted to, each attendee, after completing 10 levels, will receive (at no cost):
• Printed curriculum guide

• Certificate of completion

• Classroom supplies for the unplugged lessons – link will be provided to select your free supplies

Jamesetta James

Jamesetta is the K12 Promote IT Director at IT-oLogy where the primary focus is exposing, developing, and reinforcing students’ technology skillsets throughout the State of South Carolina. She has over 12 years of experience in the IT field where she has been employed in numerous support roles while volunteering and developing STEM hands-on workshops for students locally and nationally. Jamesetta earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Technology - Cum Laude from Columbia Southern University. She also received an Associate Degree in Applied Technology in Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology for Dekalb Technical College in Decatur, GA.
